Super vs Battle (London) 12-14 August 2011

Like last year, this years Super VS Battle will be spread across 3 chaotic days and be host to 6 fighting game tournaments. The 12th, 13th and 14th of August will officially be fighting game heaven for fans Worldwide.

Last Year saw 800 players crammed into one building, making it our biggest SVB to date. 25 different countries were in attendance making it a true World Championship. UK, Japan, USA, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Norway and many more.

The Super Street Fighter 4 tournament last year had 360 players alone.

Along with this announcement, we can also confirm 4 games:

This is the same hall that we used for Super VS Battle 2009. A spacious venue with enough room for over 1000 people.

I am going. 100% FOR SURE. I've been to both Svb 2009 and Svb 2010.
I'll update this post with a list of names of people who will also go and what tournaments they will join. Please, only say you will join if you are serious about it.

Super VS Battle 20XI dates, opening/closing times:
Friday 12th August 2011 9am-11pm
Saturday 13th August 2011 9am-11pm
Sunday 14th August 2011 9am-10pm

Super VS Battle 2011 advanced sign ups:
SVB 2011 advanced sign up (registration), will open on the 1st May 2011 and close July 23rd 2011. As normal, this will be available via the official Super VS Battle website. Advanced registration will be a lot cheaper than signing up on the day.

Player Limit:
Its also important to note that certain games will have player limits. Last year, Super Street Fighter 4 almost reached a limit that we didn’t feel we had to mention, so we advise that you sign up as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.

that's the same system as Cannes 2K11, pre-registration avoid losing A LOT of time and that's better this way...

Bon, j'ai arrangé mon train + hotel. Je suis 100% confirmé d'aller.
Je pense que je va etre le seul Belge là .

I didn't do too well

I didn't make it out of groups in the singles tournament and our 3v3 team didn't do too well either. Loads of good players, but not that many of them (about 40 i think). This meant that groups were all very difficult. I almost made it out though as everybody lost from everyone else. Both guys in our group made it to top 8. I could win in groups from one of them, but then lost some matches in stupid ways. I was missing a lot of combos. Next year I'm going to make sure to arrive a day earlier again so i can get a good night sleep. Combos I was missing even in casuals, I didn't drop on Saturday and Sunday (not even once).

I have some good news too !
CCL got 2nd place in the KOFXIII tournament. Congratulations !

Edit: next year I will make sure that "close but no cigar" will become "cigars for everyone !!!"

Well actually, I think when looking at the matches itself, this time was the best chance i got in getting trough the BB groups. I beated the guy I thought I would never beat (Kane) + all other matches except those against DBlanks were close. But remember I was playing like shit all day. Kane made shared 5th place, DBlanks made 3rd or 4th place.

To be completely fair: in a normal situation, I would lose from Kane and DBlanks. They are both more solid than I am.
